Our Ministries

  • United Methodist Women

UMW is a great time for fellowship, devotion, and fulfilling our mission. We provide financial and material support to local, national and international ministries and programs such as the Elmwood Food Pantry, crisis and homeless shelters, Christmas gifts for shut-ins, monetary gifts to our graduates, Bibles for confirmands, and more. Our main fundraiser is pie making. All women in the church and friends of the church are welcome.

  • Rock Elm Ice Cream Socials

A long standing tradition of the church is putting the ice cream socials in the summer. The socials started during the temperance movement in the 1800s with hand cranked ice cream. This social has carried on continuously until present day where we make about 80 gallons of ice cream for each social. The proceeds are used to support local church activities, to give financial support to local, national and international ministries and programs such as the Elmwood Food Pantry, housing for families in need, missionaries in Central America and Africa

  • Youth Group

Our recently started Youth Group is open to students in grades 6 and up. Our mission is to grow in our spirituality by learning about Methodism, giving of ourselves through missions, and fun activities to interact with other youth in our church family and beyond.

  • Harvest Dinner

The annual Harvest Dinner is the last Wednesday of October featuring turkey dinner with all the trimmings. Proceeds help our church continue our local, state and international missions.

  • Outdoor UFO Days Service

Every year, the last Sunday in July coincides with UFO Days. Join us for an outdoor ecumenical worship service on our lawn.

  • Vacation Bible School

Open to the public, our Vacation Bible School is a program offered during the summer to remind kids of all ages of the power of Christ in their life.

  • Elmwood Food Pantry

Our church helps sponsor the local food pantry with donations and volunteers. The Elmwood Food Pantry serves the Elmwood School District and provides open hours twice monthly and provides emergency food service as needed to the community.

  • Bible Study

Bible studies are offered to everyone through the Advent and Lent Seasons to encourage a deeper dive into Christianity.
